LUUUUX :)
So, I haven’t blogged since Jan 5th, 2010. It’s been quite a while. I kind of got out of the Android world and blogging area for a while. School and work just caught up with me, so I just didn’t have time to blog. I no longer write for Androidspin.com, because again I just don’t have much time.
I did come across this really cool site called Luuux.com. You blog, or make youtube videos and earn points. When you have a lot of points you can buy things from laptops, phones, make up, movies, clothes. All kinds of really neat stuff, so I’m forcing myself back into the blogging world. I still love Android, and will be making some posts about Android once I get back into the loop.
I encourage you guys to go check out Luuux.com, it’s a really neat site and a lot of fun!
Till next time,
Let’s Talk Android
So we all know that yesterday, January 5th, the much anticipated Nexus One was unveiled at the Google Press Conference.
I was very excited about this event, since I’ve been waiting for the release of the Nexus One since the beginning of it’s glorious birth on the inter-webs. I have to say. I was not impressed.
Don’t get me wrong, I love everything Android and I’m a hardcore everyday Android user. I just don’t see Google bringing anything new to the table. There marketing strategy has one too many flaws. $530.00 unlocked, only for T-mobile 3g Coverage, At&t edge only, Verizon and Vodafone in a few months. $179.00 with a two year contract on T-Mobile. The Problem I have with this is they’re selling directly from there site, which is going to piss off carriers. They’re selling either unsubsidized or with a two year plan from the fourth largest Mobile Carrier in the Country? Google, dude, c’mon.
The phone itself is great, it’s packing heat with it’s Qualcom Snapdragon processor, 3.7in AMOLED Touch Screen Display. It’s thinner and wider then the iphone. 800×480 Res, and is jut faster then any device on the market. But still, I’m not seeing anything that’s blowing my mind. Macworld is right around the corner and you know that Apple has something up there sleeves. Possibly the iSlate? We shall see.
This is what I want to see from Google and HTC. First, make a device with HTC Sense and Android that is able to runs on all carriers. So release a version for CDMA and GSM. Release it unlocked, but fairly priced. Then consumers will be pick their device and their carrier. Yea it will piss off carriers. But if Google rushes through in D.C. with the FCC and gets same regulations as Cable/Satellite and all other broadband networks to work for Mobile Device plans. We will be in good shape. Hopefully
I see this happening soon. If I had the money, I would still buy the Nexus One. However, I’m going to happily settle with my G1. I still love it, it’s still a great device and I’m content. Until the Mobile Market and Google is at where they need to be. I’ll be staying in the past.
Want More? Okay. Another Nexus One Video, Great Quality.
Here is yet again ANOTHER Nexus One video, this one is so far the best. Every video I see, the more I want this amazing device!
Here it is!
New Nexus One Video
Hey guys! I’ve been without internet for the past couple of days. So I’m a little late on this post but I’m going to cover it anyways. So here is a new video of the Nexus One. Best video so far. Check it
Super D Rom =D
Hey guys! I got a new ROM in store for you. I’m sure you all know Cyanogen, whom is a XDA developer. He makes some really fast ROMS for Android. Well Dwang another XDA developer has provided us with a little treat. It’s his latest ROM using Cyanogen’s kernel. So it’s Super Dwangs ROM (Super D) I’ve been using it for a few days now and it’s amazing.
For those of you who don’t know how to flash a ROM here a few easy steps for you.
First, make sure your phone is rooted. If it isn’t then you can’t do any of this. To root your phone just search How to Root G1 or Mytouch 3G on youtube. Follow the steps carefully!
Next download the Super D ROM to the root of your SD card(not in any folders)
Turn off your phone, and turn it back on holding down Home and Power. Make sure you have a good recovery system. I’m using Amon_RA v1.5.1 I’ll post a download link for that as well.
First, wipe your phone.
NOTE: I recommend downloading in the Android Market Backup for Root Users. It’s an App that allows you to back up all of your stuff. So Apps, Media, Settings etc. Do this before you wipe if you do not want to re-install all of your own apps.
Then Wipe your Ext partition. This ROM only allows 3 ext, so no partition a 4th time. If you don’t have your phone partitioned then I recommend doing so. Partition at 96 MB for good results then 512MB on the Fat32 portion.
Next from recovery select Partition SD and select repair partition.
Then select flash from SD and select the Super D Rom your put on your SD card before.
Once installed reboot!
You will go through the standard set up you usually go through.
Now, remember that app I had you install. Install it again from the Android Market. Select what you backed up before you flashed and select restore.
There you go and enjoy!!!
I’ll make a video on how to flash ROMS to make it easier on you guys. Once I get a video camera.
Here is the download link for the Amon_RA v1.5.1 Recovery
http://www.4shared.com/file/175778799…/
To install this, put it in the root of your SD card then open up Terminal.
Type in
SU (enter)
flash_image recovery /sdcard/amonra152.img (enter)
reboot (enter)
And here is the download link for the Super D ROM. Enjoy! It’s by far the best 1.6 ROM out there right now =D

Thanks to @brandonscott for porting this to his Droid. It’s 2.1 which is the build we will be seeing on the Nexus One. Now we need to get it to the G1 so I can use it!!!!
